Bay Area Women’s Center serves women, men, children, and famlies in an effort to eliminate Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault in Bay & Arenac Counties. Free programs include a 24 hour crisis line, emergency shelter, individual counceling, support groups, housing advocacy, legal advocay, transitional housing, emergency cell phones, SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner), and community education.

Bay Area Women’s Center’s Community Education program focuses largely on prevention programming with local elementary, junior, and high schools. Prevention programs include:

Community Awareness Presentations, including trainings for hair salon workers and dental professionals to identify warning signs of domestic and intimate partner violence
Youth Prevention Education for K-12 students to recognize, resist, and report sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking
