Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence

The Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCADSV) is dedicated to the empowerment of all of the state’s survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Its mission is to develop and promote efforts aimed at the elimination of all domestic and sexual violence in Michigan.

Michigan is one of 14 CDC funded DELTA project states. MCADSV supports primary prevention initiatives at the national, state, and local level by providing training and techincal assistance on topics such as community organization and mobilization ; sustainability; logic model development; a four step public health approach to domestic violence prevention; use of the social ecological model for preventing first time perpetration and first time victimization of domestic violence and sexual violence; Effectiveness of Prevention Programs ; and working with men as allies.

MCADSV maintains subcontracts with four local DELTA communities who are working to build prevention capacity for individuals and organizations within their communities.
Additional initiatives include the Michigan Statewide Prevention Steering Committee (building on the efforts that created the 2003 Vision for Prevention document), the Beyond Taking a Stand Initiative to increase the visibility and role of men in the work to end violence against women and children, and the Michigan Prevention Educators Group List .
