Domestic Violence and the Workplace

This blog is about domestic violence & its impact on the workplace as well as related topics. Hosted by Kim Wells, Executive Director of the Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence (CAEPV), the only national nonprofit organization in the US founded by the business community to address domestic violence as a workplace issue. CAEPV currently has employer members reaching over a million employees across the US with the message that domestic violence is “Everybody’s Business.”

The Feminist Peace Network is dedicated to building an enduring peace, which must include ending violence towards women and children. FPN is dedicated to the urgent need of providing shelter, food, education, and a safe environment for women and children in all parts of the world, as well as creating economic conditions to ensure these human rights in the future. A strong bias towards matriarchal thinking is assumed.

ka-BLOG! is a 16-day blog fest for the Take Back the Tech! Campaign. It is open to anyone and everyone – girls, boys, everyone beyond and more — who wants to share their thoughts, write poetry and prose, post graphics / pictures, rant, rave, heckle, make snide remarks, stick their tongue out at violence against women, and how online communications can exacerbate or help eliminate VAW. “Take Back The Tech!” is initiated and organized by the Association for Progressive Communications, Women’s Networking Support Programme (APC WNSP), are a global network of women who support women networking for social change and women’s empowerment, through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

Our Bodies, Our Blog

Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS), also known as the Boston Women’s Health Book Collective (BWHBC), is a nonprofit, public interest women’s health education, advocacy, and consulting organization. Beginning in 1970 with the publication of the first edition of Our Bodies, Ourselves, OBOS has inspired the women’s health movement by:

  • Producing books that makes accurate health and medical information accessible to a broad audience by weaving women’s stories into a framework of practical, clearly written text;
  • Identifying and collaborating with exemplary individuals and organizations that provide services, generate research and policy analysis, and organize for social change;
  • Inspiring and empowering women to become engaged in the political aspects of sustaining good health for themselves and their communities.

UNIFEM (The United Nations Development Fund for Women) provides financial and technical assistance to innovative programs and strategies to foster women’s empowerment and gender equality.
